Championship side Norwich City have signed defender Carlos Cuellar on a free transfer, agreeing a one-year deal with the player with the option of a further one year extension.

The 32-year-old was released by his former club Sunderland in June after a two-year stay, during which he played a total of 33 matches for the Black Cats and scored a single goal.

Cuellar will be the Canaries' fourth signing of the summer and will join new recruits Lewis Grabban, Kyle Lafferty and Gary O’Neil at Carrow Road.

“I’m so happy and so proud to join Norwich City", the former Aston Villa player told his club's official site.
