Thibaut Courtois wants Petr Cech to stay at Chelsea as he feels he can still learn a lot from the experienced shot-stopper.

Jose Mourinho started the 22-year-old custodian against Burnley on Monday night indicating that the Belgian is his first choice goalkeeper at Chelsea.

The current predicament raises questions over Cech’s future at the Blues, but Courtois wants the 32-year-old to stay at the club.

"I want him to stay”, the Belgian told the club’s official site.

“Even if he doesn't play he can be a lot of help to me in training."

Courtois thinks that he can learn a lot from Cech’s experience of goalkeeping in England’s top flight and will pick up a number of "tips" from the veteran.

"I can still learn from him because he has a lot of experience, he can give me good tips about the Premier League, things I might not know at the start."

The Czech goalkeeper joined Chelsea in 2004 and has made 478 appearances for the Blues.

Courtois spent the last three seasons at Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea. He made 154 appearances for the club and won a Spanish league title, a Copa del Rey, a Europa League and a Spanish Super Cup with Los Colchoneros.
