Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has expressed his satisfaction at his side's 1-1 Champions League draw away at Maribor this evening, but stressed the Bhoys must be wary of the Slovenian side in the second leg.

The Scottish giants scored first in the Champions League playoff tie, when Callum McGregor found the back of the net after just six minutes, but saw themselves pegged back by Maribor, who struck through Damjan Bohar in the 14th minute.

The Slovenian side sat deep throughout the match, hoping to catch Celtic on the counter attack, and will aim to do the same in the second leg in Scotland.

Gordon is wary of Maribor doing just that, but feels his side are at least in a good position heading into the second leg.

"I think it's a good result. We're a wee bit disappointed we didn't win the game, but I think it's a decent result to take back to Celtic Park", Gordon told Sky Sports.

"We know they are very good on the counter attack, it's how we expected them to start the game.

"Defensively, apart from the goal, we handled everything that was thrown at us.

"They've shown tonight they are a good counter attacking side. The away leg could suit them and we have to be wary of that."
