Mario Balotelli could be poised to return to the Premier League after his agent Mino Raiola jetted to England for talks with interested clubs over his client's future.

The AC Milan striker has been linked with the exit door throughout the summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool mooted to be keen on his signature.

It was claimed earlier today that Liverpool had submitted an official bid for the former Manchester City hitman, but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani quickly dismissed the suggestion, although he did leave the door open for developments.

And Balotelli's agent has gone into overdrive, flying to England in order to understand what interest there is in his client.

Liverpool remain Balotelli's most likely destination, though, according to Sky Italia, Brendan Rodgers' men only want the striker on loan first, with a view to a permanent move if he impresses.

Rodgers is desperate to sign another striker before the transfer window slams shut, but earlier this month played down talk he is interested in Balotelli.

The Italy international returned to his homeland with Milan in January 2013, the Rossoneri splashing out €20m to scoop him up from Manchester City.

However, 18 months later Milan are ready to allow Balotelli to depart for the right price. It remains to be seen whether they find a loan option sufficiently tempting though, with the Serie A side thought to favour an outright sale.
