Celtic are looking at the possibility of making a move for Lille forward Salomon Kalou.

The Ivorian, who put in a lacklustre display as Lille slipped to a 1-0 defeat to FC Porto in the first leg of the club's Champions League playoff tie last night, is believed to be being considered as a potential addition by the Scottish champions.

According to French broadcaster Eurosport, Celtic are pondering Kalou and are aware that Lille want around €5m to sell the striker.

Kalou headed to Lille following his release from Chelsea in 2012, fresh off helping the Blues win the Champions League.

The 29-year-old endured a mixed start to life in France, but has since regularly been amongst the goals for Lille.

In his first season in France, Kalou bagged 16 goals in all competitions, while last term he struck 18 times.

It is unclear whether Kalou would be open to moving to Celtic. The striker has consistently been linked with a return to England's Premier League since heading to France.
