Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he considers Everton to be a top four threat this season, especially as they have now become a club able to spend in excess of £20m on a single player.

The Toffees, who ran Arsenal close in the race for a Champions League spot last season, recently completed the capture of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, splashing £28m on the striker.

Wenger takes his Arsenal side to Goodison Park to play Roberto Martinez's men this Saturday and is wary of the threat they pose.

"They [have a good chance] because this season they have entered the bracket of clubs who spend between £20-30 million for one player", Wenger explained via his club's site.

"Behind that is the ambition to go into the top four and they were close last year.

"They lost some pivotal games, I think about Crystal Palace, which allowed us to get in front of them after they beat us. But they have the quality", the Frenchman concluded.

Arsenal were comprehensively put to the sword at Goodison Park by Everton last year, going down to a 3-0 defeat, and Wenger will be keen for his team to avoid a similar fate on Saturday.
