Liverpool's new signing Lazar Markovic has outlined the importance of winning trophies with the Reds as they aim to bring back the glory days from the past.

Since signing from Benfica, injury has restricted the Serbian's playing time to just 45 minutes for Brendan Rodgers' side in pre-season.

However, with the manager confirming that the 20-year-old is fit to return to action, Markovic will be eager to make his mark for the Anfield-based side.

"To tell you the truth, I can't wait to start playing for Liverpool", Markovic told his club's official site.
