Former Manchester City assistant coach Angelo Gregucci has no doubt that Mario Balotelli will be able to produce high level performances for Liverpool in the Premier League.

Gregucci worked with Balotelli at Manchester City, during Roberto Mancini's spell in charge of the Citizens, and is a firm fan of the striker's abilities.

Manchester City offloaded Balotelli to AC Milan for €20m in January 2013 – and now the Rossoneri are sending him back to England after accepting a bid of the same value from Liverpool.

Gregucci knows Balotelli can often court controversy off the pitch, but he believes there should be no question marks over his ability on it.

"Mario has already proven to be competitive in the Premier League, there is not much to say about his quality, in fact I think the media literature on him is already too large", Gregucci told Tutto Mercato.

"Liverpool is a club with history and titles and he certainly has the quality to play for any team in the world if he wants to."

Gregucci is now hoping that Balotelli will be left alone to produce the goods on the pitch.

"If Mario plays to his maximum he can play in any league in the world, especially if he is left alone."
