Liverpool have reached an agreement with AC Milan over Mario Balotelli and will pay €20m to sign the striker, according to Sky Italia.

News of the Reds rekindling their interest in Balotelli leaked out last night, as the player's agent jetted to England for talks over his client with last season's Premier League runners-up.

Milan confirmed earlier today that talks are ongoing for Balotelli, despite him joining in training with his team-mates today.

And now it appears he is heading to the exit door, with Liverpool agreeing to pay €20m for the Italy international, effectively handing Milan the same fee they paid to sign Balotelli from Manchester City in January 2013.

Balotelli was quoted as saying, as he arrived for training: "Today will be my last day in Milanello."

Liverpool have been hunting for a new striker since selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona earlier this summer.

And it appears the Reds will add Balotelli to their ranks in an effort to make up for the 31 league goals scored by Suarez last term.
