QPR have completed the season-long loan signing of Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas.

The Chile international, who spent the latter half of last term on loan at Spanish side Valencia, was linked with several clubs throughout the course of the summer.

But QPR have won the race and completed a deal for the Napoli man, leaving boss Harry Redknapp striking a delighted note.

Redknapp told the club's site: "Eduardo is a quality player. He’s sharp, he’s bright, and he’s very lively on and off the ball.

"He can play as a number nine, he can play in behind, he can play wide – he’s very versatile.

"I really liked the look of him during the World Cup and he’s a player our scouts have been looking at for some time."

Vargas has been handed the number 24 shirt at Loftus Road, but is unlikely to feature in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Chile star has been granted a work permit, however is heading back to Italy to obtain a work visa.
