Swansea City have made an offer of €4m for Montpellier midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

The Welsh giants are keen to take the 24-year-old to the Liberty Stadium and have now made a new attempt to secure his signature, offering Montpellier €4m, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

It is unclear whether Swansea's latest bid will meet with success however, as Montpellier are looking for a minimum of €5m for Stambouli.

Swansea also have company in their efforts to sign the Frenchman, with Fiorentina, who have also held talks with Montpellier, in the running for the player's signature.

Stambouli is a product of Montpellier's youth system and helped the club to a shock Ligue 1 title triumph in the 2011/12 campaign.
