West Brom have confirmed that they are interested in signing former Celtic striker Georgios Samaras.

The Greece international is a free agent since parting ways with Celtic at the end of the season and has been linked with several clubs.

Now West Brom are interested in seeing if they can tempt the former Manchester City striker to the Hawthornes.

The Baggies said via their Twitter account: "Alan Irvine confirms Georgios Samaras is among group of players Albion are making enquiries about."

Samaras scored a total of 74 goals in 248 games in all competitions for Celtic over a seven-season spell at the Scottish champions.
