Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes that a transfer between Real Madrid and Barcelona is complicated because of the history between the two clubs.
The Argentine’s future at Los Blancos is under a cloud and he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti also confirmed yesterday that Di Maria has asked for a transfer, but added that nothing has been decided yet.
And it was claimed today that Real Madrid have rejected a shock move from Barcelona for the Argentine winger, as they do not wish to sell to their rivals.
Reacting to the reports linking Di Maria with Barcelona, Xavi said that a transfer between Real Madrid and the Blaugrana will always be complicated because both clubs have a long and bitter history between them.

“Di Maria is a Real Madrid player”, the Spaniard was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.
“Everyone knows that things are complicated between the two teams."
Xavi though is clear about just what a talent the Argentina winger is.
“Having said that, he is a great player.”
With Laurent Blanc ruling out the possibility of signing Di Maria for PSG, Manchester United could be the only serious contenders to sign the 26-year-old this summer.
