Celtic will snap up Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard if they qualify for the Champions League group stage.

Lindegaard's agent has been looking for options for his client, who has grown frustrated at sitting on the bench at Old Trafford and playing second fiddle to David de Gea.

And Ronny Deila's Celtic is in the Danish goalkeeper's sights as a destination to solve that dilemma.

However, Lindegaard needs Celtic to qualify for the Champions League group stage for the deal to happen, according to Danish daily BT.

Should the Bhoys come through their Champions League playoff second leg against NK Maribor (the first leg in Slovenia ended in a 1-1 draw), they will launch a bid to snap up Lindegaard on a season-long loan.

Celtic recently sold first choice goalkeeper Fraser Forster to English Premier League outfit Southampton.

The Scottish champions have been playing Craig Gordon between the sticks, but there are doubts about the goalkeeper's ability to get through a full campaign, with him having seen recent years blighted by injury.

Lindegaard was also being considered by Portuguese giants Benfica, but the club have now ended their interest in the Manchester United custodian following the signing of Julio Cesar from QPR.
