Juventus are planning to contact Arsenal next week to enquire about the availability of forward Lukas Podolski, with the German having moved to the top of the wanted list in Turin.

The Italian champions had been looking at Manchester United's Javier Hernandez, who they were keen on being included in any deal which took Arturo Vidal to Old Trafford.

However, the chances of Vidal joining the Louis van Gaal revolution at Manchester United are receding.

And Juventus are now keen on Arsenal forward Podolski to boost their attacking options in the new campaign, instead of Hernandez.

According to Sky Italia, the Bianconeri plan to make contact with Arsenal over the course of the next week to discover just what it will take for the Gunners to sell the former Bayern Munich man.

Podolski has been consistently linked with the exit door at Arsenal throughout the summer, with Galatasaray persistent suitors.

The German also did not play for Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League playoff tie against Besiktas earlier this week, meaning he would be eligible to play in the competition for Juventus; another plus for the Italians.
