Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is convinced his side deserved their 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City today, despite admitting their first half performance at Stamford Bridge was poor.

Mourinho's men headed in at the break locked level with the Premier League new boys and with Leicester hopeful of at least getting a point.

However, summer signing Diego Costa struck for Chelsea just after the hour mark, while Eden Hazard then sealed the deal in the 77th minute.

Leicester did have chances and striker David Nugent was guilty of missing a guilt-edged chance to score for the visitors.

But all in all Mourinho felt his side fully deserved their three points, making it two wins in two for the Blues.

"We didn't play good in the first half. Leicester came with great defensive intensity, trying to scare us in counter-attack and we were a bit slow – slow in moving the ball and slow thinking and we needed to change and we did that", he said on Sky Sports.

"The second half was compete control. I don't forget they had a good chance with the result 0-0 but we had so many chances, so many opportunities to score obviously we deserved the victory."

Chelsea sit top of the Premier League in goal difference, having won their opening two matches of the season.
