QPR officials are due to hold talks with the agent of Guingamp striker Mustapha Yatabare at the start of next week, as they eye potentially taking the 28-year-old to Loftus Road.

Yatabare saw a €2.5m switch to Al Arabi break down last month, but is still likely to leave Guingamp before the transfer window slams shut on 1st September.

The Mali international is of interest to an unnamed Italian club, while Lyon and Lille are also monitoring his situation at Guingamp.

QPR though are taking concrete steps forward and according to French sports daily L'Equipe, will hold talks with the striker's representative at the start of next week.

Yatabare joined Guingamp in 2011 from Boulogne and has regularly hit the back of the net for the Ligue 1 outfit.

The 28-year-old also helped Guingamp win the Coupe de France last season, beating Rennes in the final 2-0, a game in which Yatabare scored.

Yatabare's contract at Guingamp runs until the summer of 2017.
