Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda feels that Angel di Maria could become one of the best signings ever for his former club Manchester United.
Di Maria is expected to arrive in England later today to complete his British transfer record switch from Real Madrid to Manchester United, for a fee of between €75m and €80m. Both clubs however have yet to make the deal official.
Macheda, who was released by the Red Devils this summer, feels Manchester United are doing well to sign the talented winger.
“I think he's one of the best signings they could make”, the Italian was quoted as saying by ITV.
The 23-year-old believes that the Argentine’s arrival at the club will lift the spirits of a struggling Manchester United squad.

“At Manchester United a player like Di Maria will lift the players and the club as well.
“If they can get him it will be great for the club.”
And Macheda is not unduly worried that Di Maria will feel the pressure of playing for Manchester United as he has already played for Real Madrid and has been plying his trade in Europe for some time now.
“He has played already for a big club in Real Madrid so he will be fine with the pressure on him.
“He's been to Portugal and Spain so that will help him coming to England.”
