Samuel Eto'o is set to join Everton despite interest from Liverpool in the 33-year-old.

Eto'o parted company with Chelsea at the end of last season following the completion of his one-year contract with the Blues and has been on the lookout for a new club.

In recent days he was strongly linked with joining Liverpool, but the Reds' capture of Mario Balotelli has pushed Eto'o away from Anfield.

According to Sky Italia, Eto'o has agreed to join Everton and the striker is due to undergo a medical with Roberto Martinez's men tomorrow.

The former Barcelona striker is expected to pen a two-year contract at Goodison Park.
