AC Milan have handed an ultimatum to Fernando Torres and are willing to switch their attention to Tottenham Hotspur's Roberto Soldado as an alternative.

Chelsea are willing to allow Torres to leave Stamford Bridge and Milan want to snap up the former Liverpool striker on a season-long loan deal.

However, Torres only wants a permanent solution to his future and is not keen on heading to Italy for a year-long loan, while the Rossoneri also find his high salary a problem.

For Milan, affording Torres outright is off the table, leaving a loan as the only show in town.

According to Sky Italia, Milan have told Torres to make a decision over his future soon, otherwise they will turn their attentions elsewhere.

And that would be to another Spanish striker in the form of Soldado.

The striker landed at Tottenham last summer from Valencia, but struggled to make his mark in his first season in English football.

Spurs are thought to be open to offloading Soldado and Milan are willing to switch their attentions to the player if a deal cannot be done for Torres.
