Former Tottenham Hotspur star Rafael van der Vaart’s agent has confirmed that he is talking to Trabzonspor on behalf of his client.

Van der Vaart, who missed the World Cup due to an injury, has only one year left on his contract with Bundesliga side Hamburg.

The Dutchman played a crucial role in the German outfit surviving the drop from the Bundesliga last season.

Although Van der Vaart insisted earlier this summer that he wants to remain at Hamburg, speculation of him leaving the club has refused to die down.

Trabzonspor are the latest club that have been linked with a move for the Dutch international and the player’s agent, Robert Geerlings, confirmed that he is communicating with the Turkish outfit on his client’s behalf.

“We are talking to the club”, Geerlings told Spox.

Ajax manager Frank de Boer also tried to sign the 31-year-old earlier this summer, but Van der Vaart refused to move back to Holland.
