Lille striker Salomon Kalou is hoping an offer heads his way from a top five Premier League club before the transfer window slams shut, while the French side's coach admits it is 50-50 whether the former Chelsea man will stay.

Kalou has been strongly linked with leaving Lille throughout the summer and the Ligue 1 side are thought to be open to his departure for the right price.

The Ivorian had been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool earlier this summer, though more recent interest has come from Borussia Monchengladbach, Celtic, Sunderland and Wolfsburg.

"He's here and at no point has the issue of his departure been raised", Lille coach Rene Girard told L'Equipe.

"But it's still possible until 1st September", he added, speaking about a transfer, while also noting the chances of Kalou staying are "50-50".

Kalou prefers a move to a top five club in the Premier League and is hoping such an option presents itself, but Girard feels the Bundesliga would suit the 29-year-old.

"The German championship is good for attackers", insisted the Lille boss.
