Atletico Madrid have joined the unfolding chase for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini and are poised to prove their intent by offering €18m for the Italian.
Borini has been linked with a number of clubs throughout the summer, though the only concrete bid so far has come from Premier League side Sunderland.
Gus Poyet's men have had an offer worth £14m accepted by Liverpool, but the ball is in Borini's court over joining the Black Cats.
He has also attracted interest from AC Milan, Inter and Napoli – but no firm bid yet.
Now, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Atletico Madrid are set to get serious over Borini.
