Schalke 04 begun their 2014/15 campaign with an unconvincing start. The club were knocked out in the DFB Pokal against third division outfit Dynamo Dresden and fell to a 2-1 defeat at Hannover 96 in their opening Bundesliga fixture.

Schalke and German international, Julian Draxler, has set his sights on bouncing back from the early setbacks to the club, after ending the 2013/14 season strongly.

“Everyone has to know where it comes from. We were so strong in the second half of last season because we invested such a lot into our matches. We now have to show that we’re in the position to make a comeback. I’m sure that we will buck the trend”, Draxler told his club website.

The German starlet is looking to put the defeat behind him against current DFB Pokal and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

“In this situation, you probably don’t want Bayern as your next opponent. Even so, every match has to be played. I’m hopeful that we also have the chance to be successful against Bayern, even when we played them in the past and did not perform as well. We have to pull ourselves together and find a way to stop the negative trends”, said Draxler.
