Stoke manager Mark Hughes acknowledged the need to be patient with new signing Bojan Krkic. The forward made his Premier League debut in the club’s opening day defeat against Aston Villa, but was left out of the starting eleven during their trip to Hull City.

Hughes revealed that the La Masia youth product was kept out of the side for tactical reasons, and expects him to become a regular starter in the team soon.

"It was a difficult game, lots of teams go to Hull and struggle to get anything so we thought we needed to be nice and solid in midfield", Hughes told the BBC.

"I was going to make a change in the second half anyway", Hughes added. "We needed to take one of the defensive midfield players off and get Bojan on. It was difficult to find him, we were a little bit out of sorts, but I thought he did okay."

Bojan was guilty of giving away possession at the KC Stadium, which led to the build up to Nikica Jelavic's goal for Hull, but he provided a vital cross that led to an equaliser for Ryan Shawcross.
