Daniel Agger cannot rule out leaving Liverpool before the transfer window slams shut next week.

The Denmark international, who is currently out with a knee injury, has slipped down the defensive pecking order at Liverpool, a situation which only worsened when the Reds signed Dejan Lovren earlier this summer.

Liverpool are thought to be open to selling Agger for the right price, though the Dane's chief suitors, Barcelona, are no longer in the market for a centre-back after signing Thomas Vermaelen.

Nevertheless, Agger feels a switch this summer cannot be ruled out, with the defender leaving his future in Liverpool's hands.

"The future is a complicated story", Agger told the Jyllands-Posten.

"Certainly things need to be resolved and we are working on that.

"Honestly I cannot at this point say what will happen.

"It depends partly on Liverpool", he concluded.
