AC Milan have admitted they are eyeing a double swoop for Chelsea’s Marco van Ginkel and Fernando Torres in the last leg of the transfer window.
Van Ginkel joined Chelsea last summer from Dutch outfit Vitesse, but a cruciate ligament injury allowed him to make only four appearances in his first season at the club.
The highly-rated midfielder is not expected to break into the Chelsea team this season due to the options that Jose Mourinho has in the middle of the park.
The Blues want a loan spell for the Dutchman to aid his progress and Milan are interested in signing the 21-year-old this summer.
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirmed that they have approached Chelsea for Van Ginkel and are quietly confident of signing the talented midfielder on a season-long loan deal.

“We are confident of Van Ginkel’s arrival”, the Italian explained to Sky Italia.
"We have made an offer and are currently awaiting a response from Chelsea. We hope that we can attract him."
Galliani also confirmed that Milan are trying to sign a striker in the final few days of the transfer window and Torres is one of the possible options.
"He's a great striker, we'll see if he or someone else is coming, but we are working hard to get a forward."
