Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has no plans to sign another striker in the last leg of the transfer window even if Olivier Giroud is ruled out for some time due to injury.

The French international striker scored an equaliser in the 90th minute against Everton on Saturday in the Premier League.

However, in the dying seconds of the game the 27-year-old suffered an ankle injury which could rule him out for three months.

Arsenal are still waiting for further scan reports to determine the extent of the damage caused to the Frenchman’s ankle.

Yaya Sanogo is also expected to miss the Champions League playoff clash tonight against Besiktas due to a hamstring injury.

Giroud’s absence will deplete Arsenal’s attacking options, but Wenger is not planning to make a last dash for a striker in the coming days, according to the BBC.

The Gunners manager is ready to put his faith in the existing attacking options of Alexis Sanchez, Joel Campbell, Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott.

Wenger confirmed yesterday that Podolski will not be leaving the club this summer and he might take the option of playing Sanchez through the middle in Giroud’s absence.
