Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has praised his team’s promising start to the season, and wants his players to keep up their solid form when they host League One side Leyton Orient.

The Villans started their league campaign with a 1-0 win at Stoke City followed by a goalless draw at home to Newcastle United on Saturday.

"Even when watching training today, some of the football from the lads was excellent”, Lambert told his club’s site.

"The way they're playing at the minute is really good. Their form is really good and their confidence is up there. You just have to take it into the next game.”

Lambert is also wary of the League One side’s potential, as they only narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship last season. And so he feels his team must be "right on" from kick off.

"It's your attitude to the game that's going to have to be right on this one”, continued Lambert.

"If you come off the level you've been playing in the last two games then it'll be tough."

Aston Villa are looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2013/14 campaign, finishing 15th in the league table. They have taken four points from their opening two Premier League games this season.
