Crystal Palace have announced Neil Warnock as the next manager of the club.

Warnock is replacing Tony Pulis, who left Palace earlier this month due to disagreements over the club’s transfer strategy.

The Englishman has signed a two-year contract with the club and will be in the dugout against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Palace announced: "Crystal Palace are delighted to announce that Neil Warnock has been appointed as the club's new first team manager with immediate effect."

It will be Warnock’s second stint as Crystal Palace manager. In his first stint, the 65-year-old led the Eagles to the Championship playoffs in 2008, but also saw the club go into administration in the 2009/10 season.

Warnock has experience of managing in English football’s top flight and bossed the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United in the Premier League.

His last managerial stint was at Leeds United, with his reign at Elland Road lasting from 2012 until 2013.

Warnock departed Elland Road in April 2013, leaving the Whites sitting just five points above the drop zone in the Championship.

The 65-year-old turned out as a winger in his playing days, taking in spells at Rotherham, Hartlepool and Scunthorpe, amongst others.
