Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted he is still in the market to make further signings before the transfer window shuts, despite just having spent £75.7m on Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria.

Van Gaal has seen the Red Devils make a poor start to the current campaign and they were dumped out of the League Cup on Tuesday night, going down 4-0 to third tier MK Dons.

The clock is ticking for Manchester United to make further signings, but Van Gaal will try his hardest to inject more new blood into the Red Devils ranks.

"The club will announce when the time is there", he told a press conference, when asked about new arrivals.

"Players will leave, others will come."

Van Gaal also confirmed that he has a number of players out injured, commenting: "We have ten injuries, one more than last week."

One player who is not injured but still cannot play for Manchester United at present is Rojo, with Van Gaal confirming the Argentine defender is still waiting for his work permit to come through.

The Red Devils are next in action this coming weekend against Burnley, when Van Gaal will hope to register his first victory as Manchester United manager.
