Former Crystal Palace full-back Nathaniel Clyne has backed Neil Warnock to get the best out of the players at the club this season.

Clyne is a product of Crystal Palace’s youth academy and made his first team debut under Warnock’s tutelage in 2008.

The full-back made 137 appearances for the Eagles before moving to the St. Mary’s in 2012 to link up with Southampton.

The 23-year-old is happy that Warnock is back at his former as their manager.

"I was pleased for Palace that Neil Warnock was named manager", Clyne told the BBC.

Clyne remains indebted towards his former manager for giving him an opportunity in the Palace first team and believes that the Englishman will always do what is best for the club.

"He has the club's best interest at heart. When I was there he gave me my opportunity to play in the first team so for the youngsters there it will be good for them.”

The Southampton man has backed Warnock to do well at Palace because he has the experience of getting the best out of his available resources.

“He has experience and is good at getting the best out of players and hopefully he will do well at Palace."
