Esteban Cambiasso turned down an approach from La Liga giants Valencia to sign for Leicester City.

The Foxes pushed hard to capture the former Inter midfielder throughout the summer and eventually got their man last night when the 34-year-old put pen to paper on a one-year deal at the King Power Stadium.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Cambiasso rejected a proposal to move to Spain from Valencia, believing his future would be best served with the Foxes.

Cambiasso will earn £42,000 per week with Leicester and will hope to help the club in their battle against relegation.

The Argentine ended a ten-year association with Inter earlier this summer, departing after a trophy-laden spell at the San Siro.
