Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted the club isn't just about new signing Mario Balotelli.

The Reds completed the signing of Balotelli from AC Milan last week for a fee of £16m and it has caused a raft of excitement around Anfield and the club's Melwood training ground.

Supporters were climbing on rubbish bins earlier today, trying to catch a glimpse of Balotelli in action on the training ground, with the striker in the mix to feature against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

But in his press conference today, Rodgers was keen to deflect attention away from the Italian and does not want Liverpool to become about one player.

"It's not the Mario Balotelli show!" Rodgers snapped when asked about the focus on the former AC Milan striker.

"He's a good player and a talented player, but he's got a lot of work to do", the Liverpool manager added.

Rodgers would say though that the 24-year-old has looked impressive on the training pitch.

"He's looked fantastic in training. So his focus is very much on his football."
