Cristiano Ronaldo believes that Real Madrid are in for a tough night when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Champions League on 4th November.

Ronaldo's Real Madrid, who won the Champions League last season, have been drawn in Group B of the Champions League, alongside Bulgarian newcomers Ludogorets Razgrad, Swiss champions FC Basel and Liverpool, returning to the competition for the first time since the 2009/10 season.

Ronaldo knows Liverpool well from his time at Manchester United and is fully aware of the depth of the challenge which awaits Los Blancos when they had to Anfield.

"Liverpool are a fantastic team", he was quoted as saying by ITV.

"They came very close last year to winning the Premier League.

"We know it's going to be a very tough game at their home. So it's going to be tough."

However, when assessing the group overall, Ronaldo feels Real Madrid cannot complain and will enjoy the Champions League action.

"But in general the group is nice and it's going to be good for Real Madrid."

Ronaldo was named UEFA's European Player of the Year for last season yesterday and will be aiming to lead Real Madrid to another Champions League crown this term.
