Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has sent out a stark warning to the club's fringe players, warning them they face a season of very little football if they do not move on before the transfer deadline.

The Reds have been active bringing new faces into the club over the summer and are now looking to trim the fat, with defensive pair Martin Kelly and Jack Robinson recently having been sold.

Rodgers insists he has fully briefed every squad member on their situation at Anfield and is expecting more players to head our than come in before the window closes.

"There will probably be more movement out than coming in", he told a press conference.

"There's still offers for players to go and every player knows their situation.

"If they are still here after the deadline it's because they want to be and they know their game time will be limited.

"Well, it will be very limited", he added.

Rodgers did not completely rule out new arrivals, but insisted the bulk of the Reds' business is done, with him being happy with the squad as it is at present.

He also praised new signing Mario Balotelli, commenting: "Mario is fine. He's settled in very well and looked fantastic in training.

"So he's focusing very much on his football."
