Alex Song has not reported for training today at Barcelona as his departure from the Camp Nou draws ever closer.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique excused the former Arsenal man from training today to allow him to negotiate a transfer away from the Blaugrana, according to Eurosport.

Song, who joined the club from Arsenal in 2012, is not in Enrique’s plans for the new season and Barcelona are keen to offload the midfielder in the final days of the transfer window.

The Cameroon international could well return to the Premier League with a London-based club, but this time West Ham are the favourites to land him.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to add an experienced midfielder to his squad and Song, who has prior Premier League experience with Arsenal, fits the bill.
