Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has revealed he told Wilfried Zaha to enjoy his football once more, after the winger, on loan from Manchester United, fired a late equaliser for the Eagles against Newcastle.

In a thrilling Premier League clash at St. James' Park, it appeared Newcastle were poised to take all three points as they led 3-2 heading deep into stoppage time.

But Zaha, who has joined Palace on a season-long loan deal, had other ideas and on as a 70th minute substitute, struck to secure a share of the spoils for Warnock's men.

And the newly-appointed manager revealed he used Zaha's bench frustration, built up at Manchester United, to good effect.

"I said to him to smile a lot", Warnock told the BBC.

"He's not been playing much and if he enjoys himself he'll be a threat in this league."

Zaha was snapped up from Palace by Manchester United for £15m in January 2013, but loaned back to the Eagles to complete the campaign and promptly helped them secure promotion to the Premier League.
