Daley Blind has spoken of his pride at heading to join Manchester United, a club he considers to be one of the biggest in world football.

Ajax announced earlier today that they have agreed a fee with Manchester United for Blind, with the Red Devils set to pay €17.5m to sign the Netherlands international.

Blind is now looking forward with pride to his adventure under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

"It's nice if they follow you, but now I am proud that I can be part of one of the biggest clubs in the world", he told FOX Sports.

And Blind explained when he came to know about the transfer, with the offer from Manchester United and the speed at which the Red Devils swooped taking him completely by surprise, despite persistent talk of their interest in his services.
