Inter have excluded Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin from their squad for the Serie A clash against Torino, as chatter over a departure for the player heats up.

Guarin is wanted by Zenit St. Petersburg, but has chosen to sit on an offer from the Russian club in case a bid from Juventus arrives, with the Turin-based club thinking of the midfielder as a replacement for Arturo Vidal, if he is sold to Manchester United before Monday evening.

Guarin himself has also been linked with Manchester United as an alternative to Vidal and the last days of the transfer window promise to be hectic ones for the former FC Porto man.

And he will play no part in Inter's Serie A opener against Torino tomorrow, having been left out of coach Walter Mazzarri's squad.

Guarin joined Inter in 2012 from FC Porto, initially arriving in Italy on loan, before his impressive performances persuaded the Nerazzurri to sign him on a permanent basis.

He came close to leaving Inter in January this year, with Juventus strongly linked with taking him to Turin.

Guarin may now be poised to end his association with Inter, as he watches his team-mates start their Serie A campaign without him.
