MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has revealed that a number of Premier League sides have asked about midfielder Dele Alli, but he has advised the 18-year-old to stay at Stadium MK until at least Christmas.

Alli shone in MK Dons' recent 4-0 League Cup drubbing of Manchester United, while he was linked with Liverpool earlier this summer.

Robinson admits that Premier League clubs have come knocking on his door for the England Under-18 international. But Alli is a player he does not want to lose.

"We've had two or three conversations with top Premier League teams", he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"My advice is to stay until Christmas.

"If something happens then, perhaps we can get him back on loan until the end of the season, by which point he will have played 30 or 40 games this season.

"He will then have the experience so that when he rolls up at a Premier League club he can compete for a first-team place."

Alli, who will not turn 19 until April next year, is a product of MK Dons' youth system and made his first team debut as a 16-year-old in 2012.

He featured for England's Under-17s before making the step up to the Under-18 ranks.
