AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi is confident that Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel will arrive at the club before the transfer window closes.

The Rossoneri have been negotiating to take Van Ginkel on a season-long loan, though the Dutch schemer has been reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge.

However, having got Fernando Torres through the door from Chelsea on a two-year loan, Inzaghi is confident that he will soon land another Blues player in the shape of Van Ginkel, who has arrived in Milan to put the finishing touches to the switch.

"Let's wait", he told Milan's in-house TV channel when asked about Van Ginkel.

"The chances are he arrives", Inzaghi continued.

"He is a midfielder, he has great desire to do well.

"In that role, he has great energy and desire. The more players you have in that role the easier it is to deploy them."

Van Ginkel missed the majority of last season for Chelsea after suffering a serious knee injury and is looking to clock up regular first team football this term.

Chelsea snapped the midfielder up from Dutch side Vitesse.
