William Carvalho has refused to rule out a move away from Sporting Lisbon before the transfer window closes, amid strong interest in his services from Arsenal.

The Gunners are keen on the defensive midfielder and have held talks with Sporting Lisbon, although no agreement has been reached and the Portuguese side remain in the driving seat over William, due to a €45m release clause Arsenal will not pay.

Speculation is growing that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will try a last minute dash to take the Portugal international to the Emirates Stadium before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow night though.

But William is not prepared to play the transfer game and, following a 1-1 draw with Benfica, stuck to the script.

"I have a contract, I feel good at Sporting. I have nothing more to say", he told reporters post match.

"I have a contract", he again stressed.

William bolstered his reputation with Sporting Lisbon last term, while he also made an impact on the international stage with Portugal.

Manchester United sent scouts to 66 per cent of his games last season, but following the sacking of David Moyes have cooled their interest, leaving Arsenal leading the race for the 22-year-old.

His contract in the Portuguese capital with Sporting Lisbon runs until 2018.
