Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Manchester United to take Javier Hernandez to Spain on a season-long loan deal.

Hernandez is unsettled at Manchester United and has been declared surplus to requirements by the club's manager Louis van Gaal.

And the Mexican is poised to continue his career at the Bernabeu with the European champions, who are looking for a striker to provide backup to Karim Benzema.

According to Madrid-based daily Marca, Real Madrid have agreed a loan deal with Manchester United which will see Hernandez arrive at the Bernabeu.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti requested another striker following the departure of Alvaro Morata to Juventus earlier this summer.

And in Hernandez, Los Blancos feel they have a player who fits the bill and can make an impact from the bench or deputise for Benzema when needed.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United will move to replace Hernandez, while it is also unclear if the agreement contains an option for the Spanish side to sign the player permanently if he impresses.
