Arsenal have been linked with turning their attention towards Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca after seeing Manchester United close a deal for Radamel Falcao.

The Gunners had been linked with moving for Falcao as they hunt for a new striker, but Manchester United have reached an agreement with Monaco to sign the Colombian on a season-long loan deal with a purchase option, and the player is due in Manchester later today.

Now, with Olivier Giroud out of action until the new year, Arsenal could move for Sevilla's Bacca.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal have been linked by English sources with making an approach for Bacca before the transfer window slams shut.

The Gunners would be looking to offer around the €16m mark for Bacca, who joined Sevilla only last summer from Belgian side Club Brugge.

He scored 21 goals in all competitions in his debut season with Los Rojiblancos, also winning the Europa League.

Whether Arsenal do make a firm move for Bacca before the window closes remains to be seen, with boss Arsene Wenger currently in Rome at a pre-arranged charity function.

The Frenchman will referee a charity game later today.
