Benfica are still pushing to sign Joel Campbell from Arsenal, but any move may depend on whether the Gunners can sign Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal are talking with Manchester United to sign Welbeck, though the Gunners are racing against time to conclude an agreement for the England international.

Arsenal will be reluctant to release Campbell if Welbeck does not sign and Benfica have representatives in the English capital as they attempt to sign the Costa Rican, according to Portuguese daily O Jogo.

Benfica are desperate to sign Campbell, however Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger suggested earlier this summer he is keen to give the striker a chance to impress at the Emirates Stadium.

Campbell spent last term on loan in Greece with Olympiacos, impressing with the Super League champions.
