Defender Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik is set to remain at French Ligue 1 side Rennes after rejecting an offer from Spanish second division outfit Real Betis.

Kana-Biyik had been strongly linked with Celtic, but it was Real Betis who slapped in an official offer for the powerful defender today.

However, according to L'Equipe, Kana-Biyik has knocked back Real Betis' proposal and has no intention of heading to play his football in the Spanish second tier.

And in the absence of an offer from Celtic, Kana-Biyik is now remaining at Rennes.

Kana-Biyik started his career in the youth ranks at Le Havre before joining Rennes in 2010.
