Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has said that Jermain Defoe wants to join the club, but the deal might happen in January.

Harry Redknapp is a big fan of the former Tottenham striker and is keen to bring him back to England from MLS side Toronto FC.




However, it emerged earlier today that a deal is unlikely to happen before the transfer window closes in the next few hours as the Canadian club have refused to sell him.

And the QPR owner has confirmed that Defoe wants to join the club, but a deal is unlikely today.
 


“There is a will on both sides for Jermain Defoe but it might be January”, Fernandes told BBC Radio 5 live.
