Manchester United made a possible final check on Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal at the weekend, as speculation of a deadline day beating move for the Chile midfielder rumbles on.

Louis van Gaal's men have been chasing Vidal throughout the summer and could launch a late bid to take him to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.

And the Dutchman ordered a check on Vidal on Saturday with, according to Tuttosport, Manchester United scouts present at the Chievo Verona vs Juventus Serie A clash.

Van Gaal is thought to be concerned about how Vidal has recovered from a knee injury.

And the Chilean will have gone a long way to reassuring the Manchester United manager by playing 86 minutes of the Serie A opener.
