Toronto FC will not sell striker Jermain Defoe in this transfer window, according to the Toronto Sun, despite receiving a number of offers for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.

Defoe is keen to exit the MLS side following the sacking of coach Ryan Nelsen and has been linked with Leicester City and QPR today.

However, the Canadian club are not willing to cash in on Defoe and want him to stay put.

That means both QPR and Leicester are set to be disappointed, though Defoe could be on the move in the January transfer window.

The striker was prolific in front of goal during his time at White Hart Lane and both QPR and Leicester were keen to add his goalscoring nous to their squad.
